Repair and Maintenance of a Drascombe Lugger

Web site information

Navigation between pages

To navigate between the different pages, use the navigation bar displayed on the left side of each page. Simply click on a heading to go to the relevant page. The current page is indicated on the navigation bar by the words 'This page' on a brown background. All text links are indicated by brown text on a yellow background which changes colour when the mouse hovers above. If revisiting the site, ALL changes and updates are listed in date order via the 'What's New?' (red & white) link at the top of the navigation bar.

Illustrations

The projects are illustrated with a series of diagrams and photographs mixed in with the text. In my view there is nothing so frustrating as a photograph or illustration which is too small to see the relevant detail. To avoid this, most of the illustrations are 'thumbnails' for larger versions. Simply click on the 'thumbnail' to view the large version and then, when done, click on the enlarged picture to return to your place on the previous page.

Printing

All the pages have been designed to be 'printer friendly' and print out in much the same way as they appear on screen. The left hand navigation bar is omitted in the printed version and an attempt has been made to ensure that the graphics are not split between pages. You can get an accurate idea of how a page will print by using the 'Print preview' facility on your web browser. The enlarged graphics can also be printed whilst displayed on screen.

Accessibility

This web site was first published on 22 November 2001 and was progressively developed until September 2002. By this time it had become apparent that the site needed major revision in terms of improving its general accessibility.

Work commenced on the production of a revised version with the design entirely controlled by Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). It was also decided to discontinue the use of frames. The whole site has been designed with web standards in mind and conforms to the guidelines set out by the W3 Consortium on accessibility and usability.

Having problems?

If the pages on this site do not display satisfactorily on your screen then it is likely that you are viewing it with an old version of a web browser that does not conform to current web design standards. You are strongly recommended to upgrade. One of the best browsers currently available which is free and which will work with both PC and Macintosh systems is Firefox. This browser will display all properly designed web sites visited to their maximum best effect!
